The Smart Pod® is a deployable, expandable shipping container-based medical facility that solves the critical dual-purpose need for access to quality healthcare in response to emergencies (pandemics, natural disasters) and for everyday community health in underserved and under-resourced areas.

Our mission is simple

Xploration Health® exists to advance the delivery of healthcare and population health in emergency response situations, in remote areas, and in other constructs where medical care can be enhanced through the deployment of modular or mobile healthcare facilities.

Our challenge is monumental

The US government considers 80% of rural America, which encompasses 20% of the US population, as “medically underserved.” The numbers are magnified when one considers the lack of access to quality healthcare on a global basis.

Our field is global

To date, our Smart Pod facilities have been successfully deployed in the United States and West Africa. Smart Pod applications deployed to date include a hospital ward (isolation capacity for infectious patients and cataract surgeries for Ebola survivors), BSL (biosafety level) 2 and 3 laboratories, a pharmacy and isolation clinics (advanced airflow systems to address potential airborne pathogens, including COVID-19).

With multiple Smart Pod facilities deployed, more deployments in progress and several Smart Pod clinical applications already designed, Xploration Health is poised to make a truly meaningful difference in enhancing public health around the world.
